By partnering with other organizations committed to broadening educational opportunities for children, RugMark is able to help former child weavers go on to become the best educated kids in their country.
Fifteen outstanding students from RugMark educational programs were accepted into one of the best boarding schools in Kathmandu. Little Angels is widely touted as the “Harvard” of Nepal. A private school run by Mr. Umesh Srestha, Little Angels agreed to provide an option for education at a subsidized cost along with boarding facilities for the children. The children rescued by RugMark who are studying include Guru Lama in class 2; Pasang Tamang, Bir Bahadur Tamang and Prakash Lama in class 4; Budhimaya Tamang in class 6; Phulmaya Thing and Kumar Lama in class 7; and, Mingmar Pakhrin, Sagar Raut, Shyam Bahadur Bal and Tsering Mokan in class 8.
Children who show continued outstanding performance in their formal education will be enrolled at Little Angels on an ongoing basis.
