Cindy Timberlake, founder of Timberlake Textiles, has been fascinated with rugs since she was a child growing up in New Mexico. The close proximity of her family's ranch to the Mexican border allowed her to see impoverished families and their children selling whatever they could on the streets to survive. “I’ve always felt that we have to bring the forgotten back into our lives and support them,” she says. “It’s our responsibility.” Cindy Timberlake feels the same responsibility today for the Nepalese workers who make her hand-knotted, wool and wool and silk rugs.
