Most of the photographs for this website were taken by noted documentary filmmaker and photographer, Robin Romano. As part of his Stolen Childhoods project, Romano traveled to RugMark schools, vocational training centers, and production facilities in 2000 to record the impact of its certification and rehabilitation work on the ground.

The centerpiece of Stolen Childhoods is a hard-hitting feature documentary film, which premiered in 2004. Filming was done in the U.S., India, Indonesia, Mexico, Kenya and Brazil, where Romano also photographed illegal child labor in onion farms, fishing platforms, tobacco plantations, coffee harvests and brick factories. Stolen Childhoods was written by two-time Academy Award winning filmmaker Mark Harris, narrated by actress Meryl Streep and co-directed by Len Morris and Robin Romano.

Robin has generously donated his time to RugMark as part of the Stolen Childhoods project and as an anti-child labor activist.
